What Data Management+ does.
Data Management Plans move through six lifecycle phases, from Plan and Task to Preserve or Dispose, each with a compliance score, a linked RMF asset, review dates, and timestamped decision records. Table and Kanban views track plan state across the portfolio.
Every plan carries commitments, the obligations and controls it must satisfy. A risk matrix scores them by priority and risk level, and the same commitment records are shared with Audit+ for attestation.
An event generator and alert console connect data-management breaches to ServiceNow Event Management, so a missed obligation becomes an actionable alert rather than a number on a dashboard.
Data Management+ is the data-governance hub of the suite. It manages Data Management Plans across a catalog of governed data assets, scores compliance posture for leadership, and connects obligations to operational alerting. The executive dashboard rolls up overall compliance, active plans, data asset counts, active commitments, and critical risks, with a twelve-month compliance trend and a commitment risk matrix that drills into filtered lists.
Each plan advances through six lifecycle phases and carries a compliance score, a linked Risk Management Framework asset, and review dates. Data assets are catalogued as configuration items, so they inherit ownership, location, and status from the platform CMDB. A controlled IC Data Management Lexicon keeps terminology consistent across plans.
Commitments are the connective tissue between apps. DMM commitments are the same base records that Audit+ attests against, and plans reference Compliance+ RMF assets and Governance+ organizational entities. An event generator feeds synthetic events into the alert console, so teams can exercise the path from a breached obligation to a raised alert before it matters on real data.
